Tulsidas on Muslims

I read this interesting doha from Tulsidas who was a contemporary of great king Akbar during the Muslim invasion of India:

"It is a legend that a blind, old, poor, Muslim, feebled by age, was pushed down to earth on the street by a running pig. Lamenting "Ha-ram, Ha-ram, Ha-ram has killed me", he breathed his last.

His call to "Ram" at the end of his life, though inadvertent, removed all his sins and he entered the kingdom of the Lord.

If someone were to recite "Ram" with love and devotion, his gains would be beyond description."

Yajurveda 13.42

Someone asked me to refer to Yajurveda 13.42. It meant 42nd Mantra in 13th Adhyay / chapter. I tried searching for the same. I found the verse as this: Vatasya jutim varunasya nabhimashwam jagyanam sarirasya madhye. shishum nadinaam harim-adribudhnam agne ma hinsih parame vyoman. (Sorry if some spelling is wrong; I copied this from Sanskrit) While searching on the net, I found one site where someone had written that Yajurveda 13.42 says this: "Do not kill the horse." And hence the person claimed that this verse proves that Hindus used to kill horses in the Yajurveda period! But the actual meaning of this verse is this: He (Agne) Tejaswin vidwan! Touching Paras

A disturbing trend has developed in Kerala. Taliban-style courts in God's Own Country 'Hotbed of terrorism' is not the usual label for Kerala.
